High Yaki is a “yakiniku” (grilled meat) restaurant that takes a special approach. It is inspired by traditional Japanese cuisine adding a western and Chinese twist into its flavors and execution. It specializes in high quality “dry aged” meats complemented by top level cocktails.
With our design we wanted to reflect this special approach towards food and drinks. So we took inspiration from the traditional Japanese design language and re-formulate with a contemporary modern approach.
The façade is made of frosted U-Glass, offering a glimpse of the interior action and acting as a theatrical lantern. It provides privacy and a touch of mystery from the street.
The narrow, almost hidden entrance on the side, takes you to low ceiling room, before revealing the spacious dining room.
The grill bar takes a central position within a minimalistic space. Its materiality: marble (with its “veins” resembling the meat texture), copper and special lighting contrasts with the concrete surroundings. Red accents on the vertical metal columns add a funky touch.
